Hello, welcome to the vibrant, colourful world that is Just Bex Studio. Here, we love all things that are individual and a little out of the ‘norm’ – whatever that means! And we embrace colour, vintage vibes and our love for Maximalist Decor. Bex handmakes everything in her little studio surrounded by the Leicestershire countryside. Cute, we know. Every piece has its own story to tell, and is truly one-of-a-kind. Bex’s aim for her brand is to be as Eco-Aware as possible, so the majority of the products she creates are made from unwanted or discarded items and dead-stock wools and other textiles, in the hope to minimise waste and be more sustainable.
Just Bex Studio was born out of a desire to make things for herself and her own home that she couldn’t find elsewhere. Then before she knew it, she was getting requests from others to make the same for them. This blew her mind. So she thought, why not just set something up ‘proper’ – this is a very Leicester way to say properly – and start selling the things she loves to make and talk about, so others can have them to love too.
Bex takes her inspiration from tapestries, textiles, retro nick-nacks – especially from the 70s – vintage markets, antique shops, Art and a-bit of quirk! Just to name a few. You’ll often find her in a gallery somewhere or face-planted firmly in an artsy book, captivated with another person’s work, especially when it has been created with lots of colours. She also spends a lot of time experimenting with colour, be it in drawing, painting or working with textiles. Colour makes Bex happy and she hopes her work will bring some of that happiness to you too.
